"ACTors" Wanted....

ACTors WANTED!!!

Not exactly what you might be thinking...this involves no pretending, no faking, no mustering up emotions based on someone you are "trying" to portray or a story you are trying to tell. This is ALL real, ALL right now, and ALL about a story that's already been told. The role is never filled or already taken, and you are never "not exactly what we are looking for". You don't have to look a certain way or be a certain age. You won't have to speak to an assistant or agent. You can speak directly to the director himself. You don't have to be experienced but you MUST believe in your character! You'll have lots of lines and have to be at work everyday, but you won't be the main character.

Sounds like a job for only the most dedicated actors right? Long hours, lots to do, and no recognition? And no mention of pay!!! Oh but the pay is GOOD! The pay is the most beautiful jewels ever seen and a gorgeous crown. Oh and a mansion, yes you get to live in a mansion.

God calls us to be "act-ors"...FAITH act-ors. People living out daily acts of faith. Not for our good or our glory or so that people will "see" us. But so that people will see Him...see His Son Jesus.

And this can be different for everyone. If there is one thing God DOESN'T want us to do, it's feel the need to act out in our faith the same as the next person. He gives us all a different story...a different testimony. I should say testimonIES because He's given me about 10. When people ask me to share my "testimony" I always say "which one?" He gives me testiments of His goodness and faithfulness all the time. And I try to do the same for Him. If in everyday I can find a way to act out in faith and be a "faith actor" then I have done my job.

Fellow "Faith actors":

This man's name is Tom Helling, he calls himself a refurbished sinner, and his companion was John C. Prosser, a legally blind traveling musician. Helling once lived a sinfull life with no hope. Once he accepted Jesus and learned of His love and forgiveness he felt compelled to act out in faith. He travels all across America carrying an 8 foot cross on his back. If he reaches one person with that message of hope and forgiveness that was given to him-then his journey is accomplished.


Noah-He doesn't call everyone up to build an ark for 90 years while people mock and make fun. This was a HUGE act of faith. Can you imagine telling your family that this is what God had asked you to do and that you needed their help? And to continue to work on it for that long while not seeing one drop of rain?

I don't know that God will ever call me up to do something as big as Noah or Tom Helling. I feel that right now my acts of faith are small but I know they are big to God. He gives us all different "ACTing" jobs, but we all have the same script and the same main character. We don't all have the same pay, but the pay is fair and based on how good of a job we do. I don't know about you...but I'm trying to win an award. I want to be the best "actor" I can be!

A Rabbit "Tale"...

Today I took the boys to have their Easter pictures made. Jessica Worth runs a special every year on some really cute pictures with live bunnies and I thought this would be a great photo opp. I never could have imagined how wild this photo shoot would go!!! The boys looked adorable in their matching shirts and matching jeans. Hair was perfect. Smiles were on. And then things got crazy. I scheduled the pictures (which were taken at ECLC) for 2:30 forgetting that that was school release time. When you homeschool you just don't run on "school schedule". For every hour is a school hour and yet there are none! :-) SO while we are trying to take pictures, approximatly 150 3-6 year old students come barrelling in the school cafeteria where we are. For Braydon this was a BIT of a distraction....TO SAY THE LEAST!!! At one point during the photo shoot, Jessica picked the bunny up to re-position it and it peed everywhere....missing us by a "hare"!!! LOL. The whole time this is going on, Deacon was trying to climb into the empty rabbit cage. He wanted on the floor and in the cage. After ten minutes of this chaos I simply said, "Lets just go with what we got! Pick the best one and I'll take it!"

Never a dull moment!!! Be blessed!

Seussical Fun...

While at MD Anderson last week we went to a Dr. Seuss birthday party they were having for the Children's Cancer hospital patients. We had brithday cake (at 10am), watched a skit, gots books and hats and stuffed animals. Met some NFL stars from the Retired NFL Players Association. They all signed Braydon's book so I grab ad few pics! Enjoy!

Fellowship of the UnAshamed...

**I DID NOT PERSONALLY WRITE THIS. BUT I DO CLAIM EVERY WORD....ENJOY!

I'm a part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of His and I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.

My past is redeemed. My present makes sense. My future is secure. I'm done and finished with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, or first, or tops, or recognized, or praised, or rewarded. I live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by Holy Spirit power.

My face is set. My gait is fast. My goal is heaven. My road may be narrow, my way rough, my companions few, but my guide is reliable and my mission is clear.

I will not be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice or hesitate in the presence of the adversary. I will not negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and preached up for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus. I must give until I drop, preach until all know, and work until He comes. And when He does come for His own, He'll have no problems recognizing me. My colors will be clear!"

Full Update...

TRIP TO MD ANDERSON:

We got back about 11 pm last night with another great trip under our belt. Braydon and Deacon were both very good on the trip. They are both great travelers.
Braydon had an IV placed for two MRI's on Monday morning. He was put to sleep for them both. He was under anesthesia for a little over two hours. Needless to say he was pretty cranky when he woke up. The longer you are under anesthesia the worse you feel when you wake up (as a general rule). This was Braydon's 85th time to have been under sedation and/or general anesthesia. I know! Even the doctors find it hard to believe.

Monday night we went to visit some good friends of ours. The Thomas' are friends of ours from Houston whose oldest son Brendon was in treatment with Braydon over the last five years. Brendon and Braydon have always been good buddies. They are one year apart and have so much in common. Sarah and Sedrick also have a little boy named Langston that is 8 weeks older (and much bigger-lol) than Deacon. So everybody had a playmate. :-) We had pizza, let the kids play and just visited. We had a great time!

Tuesday Morning also brought lots of fun with Dr Suess birthday party at the hospital in the Pedi-Dome. There was a skit, birthday cake, crafts and lots of cool people there. The Retired NFL Association was there with several former NFL players. I got lots of good pictures that I will post soon. Braydon and Deacon got a Dr. Suess stuffed animal and a "Cat in the Hat" Hat, and Braydon also got a Dr. Suess book autographed by all the NFL players.

Tuesday around lunch with met with Braydon's Nuerologist. He let us know that Braydon's MRI's look P-R-E-F-E-C-T! Praise the Lord for that! There are NO signs of any injury, lesions, or tumors, which were all possibilities (to the doctors) of why his left pupil is larger than the right. There are MULTIPLE signs that the brain is perfectly healthy, growing and changing normally and the shunt was PROVEN to be funtioning beautifully!! PTL!!!

We are still unsure however why the left pupil is larger than the right pupil. His nuerologist assured us that when we meet with the Nuero-Opthamologist in April that she will be able to answer more questions on that. She will do a 4 hour exam that will give us lots of info. In talking with his Nuerologist about some of the things Braydon is doing and experiencing that concern us as of now...he did mention that is sounded like some thing called Petit-Mal Epileptic Seizures which can occur in children ages 4-14. The are momentary lapses in brain function that last only a few seconds and cause no problems other than interrupted learning. Since I homeschool him
we can handle this. But they are seizures none-the-less and would need to be treated with medicine. Again this is something we will test for in April and is not a diagnosis at this point-only a probable cause for some strange behaviors Braydon has been having lately.

Overall, this was a wonderful appt. with good news and just another blessing. We don't have many answers but we do have joyful hearts and faith in the Lord for all the answers to come. He continues to pour out blessings on our family (i.e. no problems with the brain)and we are grateful!
